Under $450: Budget-Friendly Car Beds
The No.5 Special Racing Car Bed ($299) is our lowest car bed at just 51.7 cm high. Raised sides help keep little ones tucked in, which makes it a gentle first big bed after the cot. It comes in Navy Blue or Red.
The Mclaren Single Racing Car Bed ($429) has the tallest sides of our racing beds at 72.7 cm. Many kids love the enclosed, cockpit feel, and the sides help keep pillows in place. For a pink option at the same price, see the Pinky Car Bed.
$450–$550: Car Beds with Extra Features
The Sprint Racing Car Bed with Drawer ($479) adds a built-in storage drawer for toys or spare bedding. It sits 55 cm high with big pop-up wheels, in Navy Blue or Red. In this range you'll also find the white Brap Brap Car Bed and the Special Drift Car Bed (both $499).
$550 and Up: Bigger Beds That Last Longer
Most car beds are single size. The Racer King Single Car Bed ($649) takes a full king single mattress, which is 15 cm wider and 15 cm longer than a single. How to Choose the Right Car Bed
Your child's age
For toddlers coming out of a cot, a low bed means a short distance to the floor. The No.5 Special is our lowest at 51.7 cm. For school-age kids, a king single like the Racer gives them room to grow.
Mattress size and thickness
Most of our car beds take a standard Australian single mattress (92 × 188 cm); the Racer takes a king single (107 × 203 cm). Keep the mattress no more than 20 cm thick so the raised sides stay at an effective height. Mattresses are sold separately – see our low-profile mattresses.
Room size
Car beds are longer and wider than a plain bed frame because of the car body. The Sprint is 225 × 111 cm and the Racer is 237.5 × 126 cm, so measure your room before you order.
Storage
If floor space is tight, a bed with a built-in drawer like the Sprint saves you buying a separate toy box.
Materials and care
Most of our car beds are made from MDF with a painted finish, which allows the smooth curves and bright colours of a car body. Wipe them with a soft, damp cloth and dry them off. Avoid strong cleaners or chemicals.
Delivery and Assembly
We deliver car beds Australia-wide. Each bed arrives flat-packed in 3–5 cartons, and the longest box is about 2.1–2.3 m long, so check your stairs, lift and doorways. Assembly takes two people, and every bed comes with the hardware and instructions you need.
