The Hestia Single over Double Bunk Bed puts a single bed on top and a double below, so it sleeps two kids – or a child and a parent – in the footprint of one double bed. Instead of a ladder, a staircase with four built-in drawers leads to the top bunk, and the whole frame separates into a standalone single bed and double bed when your family's needs change. Add a Single Kids Trundle Bed under the lower bunk and it sleeps three.
Key features
-
Furntech-AFRDI certified: certified to the Australian mandatory bunk bed safety standard (Cert No. 17669/1). Certification covers the bunk bed; the optional trundle is not part of the certified configuration.
-
Single over double: a single bed up top and a double underneath – room for an older child, two younger ones, or a parent at bedtime.
-
Storage staircase: four drawers built into the steps, and stairs are easier to climb than a vertical ladder.
-
Splits into two beds: separates into a single bed and a double bed for when kids move to their own rooms.
-
Sleeps three: choose the With Kids Trundle Bed option to add a Single trundle under the double – save $30 compared with buying separately.
-
Solid rubberwood frame: headboards, side rails, footboards and staircase frame in solid rubberwood.
-
Slatted bases: no ensemble bases needed – just add a single and a double mattress.
Why choose a single over double bunk bed?
A single over double gives you three sleeping spots' worth of flexibility in one bed: a full double on the bottom suits an older child, siblings who share, or a parent settling a little one to sleep. Because it separates into two standalone beds, it keeps working long after the kids stop sharing.
